New piece!
Hey,
This the revised image, big change just made the central character the focal point and removed the rest of the characters, painted some details for more weight to the character . Added a background some sort mystic temple and pillars of interest, give a sense of protection. Dust and smoke coming out of the temple to add some motion into scene image.
Enjoy!!
Here is a character piece, started off working on the center character and worked around the image. I had some trouble with this, the characters feel like they were staged in place, didn't really like where this image was heading.
I want to submit an image to 3D Total for the next Digital Art Master books, one of my many goals to get accomplish in the future but anyways, a big help to Emalee from 3D Total for some suggestions and advice.

Final process!
Hello,
So here we are the final pieces, at this point its all about colour, decals and presentation. Since the concepts were quite in detail the colouring processing was simple just base colours, shadows, highlights and texturing.
Here is the character image in colour and presented. In some cases you don't have to showcase your work like this to a client, even just a white or black fill will be just fine depends on the client or they might be surprised you taken it this far. Be very aware of your spelling do a double check or a triple check before sending it and even I make mistakes right before the deadline it happens...but please do check, make it habit of doing!!
The weapon image in colour, pretty much self explanatory basic base colours. I was very careful not to over expose the colours, its a military weapon gets the job done. Just added some dents, scratches and tiger stripes for a custom look and feel.
The images here are a package process of the character and weapon designs. This is where you bring all the work you've done and display it. Clients will love you if you showcase your work in a package, give them the opportunity for more ideas or perhaps can be a potential art book in the making, you never know? Try different layouts and themes presenting your work, you won't believe how much time it takes to make your work presentable just be patient and don't rush.I had a lot of fun creating this and showing you guys my thought process.
Enjoy!!

Weapon process!!
Hello!
Just going to go straight in to things here, When I was creating the character and figuring it out to the final image, I decided to create a first weapon just to get the overall feel of it. Now when starting this weapon I had no idea what I wanted to do, I'm not a weapon specialist, so I did some research. Research is very important the more research you do the better, however I didn't like the weapon to be realistic and modern with the rest of the games out there, so I came up with different approach.
I just started to paint shapes just figuring out the main shape of a gun and within those shapes focus on the main parts of it and then work in the details. This process is focusing on the creativity and imaginative side of things, very fun. I wanted simplicity, elegant and clean design, I know...elegant for a weapon weird right?!? but different and I'm going for it!
Enjoy!!
Here is first image of the weapon and the process, just clean and simple not dealing with colour yet. When dealing with a client focus on your presentation as well, helps the client see their vision even more. So your helping them to see more out of their ideas to get them more in to it as much as you are, great stuff here! Now with this image you would include the title of the project and a logo of course in the background, with all of your images given to the client.
The second image is the scope of the weapon, the idea of this came out of nowhere, it was when I was creating the design of gun and ask myself what if...this happen, the scope of the gun comes out. Whenever you have ideas, act on it right away get it out of your system if it doesn't work just go back to your design, you just never know!!
The third image is the ammo and clip design, how it opens, showing the internal parts of the gun and adding some text, give it some realism and some life. The ammo clip was a simple shape with a simple see through view of the front holding the bullets that contain within. Be very ware of your design and how it works, if clients asks you to create a different angles, views and even blueprints for that matter, you should be able to and if not let them know before the job and or project starts.
The fourth image is a different angle showing the top of the weapon and the front, giving a feel of the overall. Again expect changes with clients it happens but for the better, most of the time but its all good. After this stage of the design, we will be going into colour and final.
I hope you guys are learning from this, anyways enjoy!!

Character process!!
Hey guys!
So lately on the passed couple of weeks I've been working on exploring paintings on techniques I've learned so far. Now a got that out of my chest i feel the need to go big and show you guys my process on how i create everything. The first thing I'm going to do is my weakest ability (presently struggle with) is creating a character.
Follow me on this journey and i hope at the end of all this will have a full illustration piece with all the layouts and design done within.
Enjoy!!
This is the first image I'll go by exploring shapes, i find that odd numbers are better when giving choices and opinions with clients and friends. I went with a sci-fi, military, soldier cop feel, kinda a lone wolf figure. I went with number 6, just base off of the shape felt good about that.
A big shout out to Lamin Martin a good friend of mine, amazing concept artist!!! helped me out with this and much great advice on this.
You can check out his work here:

The next image is I took the figure that I like and mixed different parts with other figures and play around with the feel of what i liked and this the result.
So now we made some decisions, i duplicated the figure bunch of times (odd number) and starting figuring out the legs and belt.
Here we are with a front, side and back view of the character, just moving the process along. I painted the back of the character and i didn't like it, Due to no exploration on it. So lets do that!!
So been exploring shapes for the back of the character, keeping in mind if this character was used for a third person video game, the back of the character is very important. Having said that i went with the second one, and oddly enough my sister choose the same one as well and i ask her why, she said
"Just it's simple and clean" interesting...simple shapes.
This is the character rendered out front and back pose, almost to the final stages with this. Having established the shapes with the character there was a big jump within details. I find that sometimes clients don't know what they want and that's where you coming in and go beyond there expectations. So I'm playing the client with this process, and i wanted to go all out had a lot of fun with this.
At this point you would probably given this to a 3d modeler if wanted to but the next step would be colour, decals, more details and presentation. Keep an open mind that even in this stage the client and or studio would go 180 on this and won't like it due to something within the project but its all good, its part of the process and were all going in the same direction. Expect the unexpected!!
Enjoy!!
